New music at a new museum
So, in the beginning of this year the Jewish museum of Stockholm commissioned me to write a piece for the opening of the Jewish museum at their new location. I happily accepted and on Thursday June 6th the piece will be premiered.
The new museum will be at the same spot that housed Stockholm’s first synagogue. My piece attempts to tell the story of Swedish Jewry through both Swedish and Jewish music.
Själagårdsgatan 19 is performed by:
Johan Christoffersson- flute and alto saxophone
Magnus Dölerud - clarinet and tenor saxophone
Eva-Tea Lundberg - French horn
Staffan Findin - trombone
Anna-Greta Sigurdardottir - piano
Svante Söderqvist - Violoncello
Alexander Freudenthal - musical direction
the piece will be performed at 11:30 am and 1:30 pm
